I’m a friendly professional drummer offering lessons covering technique (including Moeller), timekeeping, reading and musicality. Students of all abilities welcome, from aged 8 upwards: whether you’ve never picked up a pair of sticks before or you’ve been playing for years and want to improve your technique.

Drawing on over 20 years playing experience, including 15 years of touring and recording professionally in the UK, EU & USA (including regular BBC 6 Music radio sessions, recording at Abbey Road, Rockfield & Maida Vale studios and playing Glastonbury, SXSW, Green Man and End of the Road festivals) I teach from a studio in the Northern Quarter, Manchester. I also have a junior drum kit perfect for those growing drummers. I perform with Richard Dawson, Jane Weaver, Irma Vep, Waterless Hills, Yerba Mansa, Kiran Leonard, TVAM and others. I previously performed with Lonelady and have guested with Damo Suzuki (CAN), Rhys Chatham, Cian Nugent plus dozens of free improvising musicians including: Nate Wooley, Eugene Chadbourne, Alan Wilkinson, Pat Thomas and Rhodri Davies. I have had tours supported by Arts Council England (2018), Jazz North’s Northern Line scheme (2017-2018) and Jazz Services (2013). I have a special interest in improvisation.

I also teach online lessons on Zoom or Skype.

£28 per hour standard rate / Free first lesson

I am a member of The Musician’s Union and have a fully clear DBS Enhanced certificate (2022).
