Drum Lessons in Manchester

I’m a friendly professional drummer offering drum lessons in the Northern Quarter, Manchester city centre, covering:

  • Technique

  • Timekeeping

  • Reading

  • Rudiments

  • Musicality

Students of all abilities are welcome, from aged 16 upwards, whether you’ve never picked up a pair of sticks or you’ve been playing for years and want to improve your drumming. Online lessons are also available.

  • £28 per hour (standard rate)

  • £32 per hour (higher “pay-if-you-can” rate)

About

I have over 25 years drumming experience, 15 years of that touring and recording in the UK, EU & USA. This includes numerous BBC 6 Music radio sessions; recording at Abbey Road, Rockfield & Maida Vale studios; playing at Glastonbury, SXSW, Green Man and End of the Road festivals. I perform with Richard Dawson, Jane Weaver, Waterless Hills and Yerba Mansa. Previously I worked with Lonelady, Kiran Leonard, Irma Vep and TVAM. As a guest I have appeared with Damo Suzuki (CAN), Rhys Chatham, Cian Nugent, Nate Wooley, Eugene Chadbourne, Alan Wilkinson and more. Some of these tours were supported by Arts Council England (2018), Jazz North’s Northern Line scheme (2017-2018) and Jazz Services (2013). With David Birchall I co-organised Curious Ear, which has been funded by Arts Council England.
